Q: What is the purpose of Stamford Hospital Foundation?
A: Stamford Hospital Foundation is the official gift-receiving and fund-management organization of Stamford Hospital. Our purpose is to support the Hospital's mission by receiving, managing and distributing your generous gifts--to benefit patients, staff, physicians, the community and enhance our programs and facilities.

Q: What specific services does the Foundation provide?
A: The Foundation is responsible for:

       - Fundraise and manage special events
       - Receiving, recording, receipting, acknowledging and reporting gifts
       - Investing funds
       - Providing stewardship for fund disbursement
       - Maintaining a data base of donors and friends

Q: How is the Foundation governed?
A: Stamford Hospital Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors, made up of executive staff, physicians and community leaders. These individuals help oversee the Foundation's policies and procedures and monitor its finances.

Q: To whom do I make my check?
A: Please make your check payable to the Stamford Hospital.

Q: Can I make an online donation? And is it secure?
A: Yes, you can make a secure online donation. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. The online donation process takes only a few minutes and it is completely safe and secure.

Q: Are donations tax-deductible?
A: Yes, all donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Q: What will my donation support? And can I designate my gift for a specific purpose?
A: Health care is personal, and so is charitable giving. You are welcome to direct your gift to any of the general areas of Stamford Hospital. Many donors elect to direct their gifts to the unrestricted fund. This means that their gift will be used as needed. Unrestricted gifts are by far the most important for the Hospital. 

Q: Can I make a gift in honor or in memory of someone?
A: Yes, these are called tribute gifts

Q: Can I make an anonymous gift?  What will the Foundation do with my personal information?
A: Yes, the Foundation respects your desire to remain an anonymous donor. Your personal information will remain in the strictest confidence.
